Each child makes progress at a different rate, and the impact of therapy is regularly reviewed. I normally recommend a 6 week block of therapy, at which point we can review how the child is getting on. This is very flexible however, and there is no obligation at all to sign up to a certain number of sessions.
The length of each individual session also depends on the goals we are working on, and this would be discussed and agreed prior to starting a therapy block. The average session would involve mainly direct work with the child, potentially followed by 5 minutes of feedback and discussion with parents or those working with the child regarding activities to practice at home.
Therapy can be offered weekly, fortnightly, monthly or on a review basis if following a programme at home.
